We’ve carefully engineered every step of this unique process – including everything from the altitude and soil conditions, to drying and storage, to roasting and packaging – to deliver the same amazing experience with every bag.
And even after carefully controlling every detail, we still don’t take any chances: Every batch of beans goes through independent lab testing for 27 different toxins (including mold toxins that can easily survive coffee-roasting temperatures) to guarantee each cup leaves you clear-headed, energized, and focused.
How Fresh Is Your Coffee?
So how can coffee always be in season? The short answer is… it can’t. It’s the reason why Bulletproof coffee beans only come from in-season growers fresh from the harvest. Depending on the time of year, you will receive coffee from our farms in Colombia or Guatemala – all precision roasted and then packaged in nitrogen-flushed bags to give you a steady supply of peak-freshness beans all year round.
If you’re a true coffee connoisseur, you might detect some subtly different flavor notes from the “terroir” of the beans grown in each farm’s unique soil from season to season. However, we roast all of our beans in small batches to deliver beans with the same consistently amazing “flavor profile” year-round – no matter where your coffee comes from.

Bulletproof beans are not only rigorously tested for mold, biogenic amines and other contaminants – we’ve also worked closely with some of the world’s top coffee tasters to create roasts that that don’t need any added sweeteners to taste delicious.
Not only that, all of our beans are custom-crafted to pair perfectly with Brain Octane and grass-fed butter or Ghee to make the best possible Bulletproof Coffee. (That’s crucial, since some coffees can taste weirdly “off” when you add butter and oil to the mix).
So whether you are brewing The Original, medium-dark The Mentalist, or full-dark French Kick, you can be confident you’re getting the cleanest, freshest, and best-tasting cup with every brew. Each roast profile was engineered to mix perfectly with Brain Octane® oil. and unsalted grass-fed butter (or Bulletproof Ghee) to give you the best tasting cup of Bulletproof Coffee.
French Kick: Smooth and sweet with pleasantly smoky baking chocolate notes, finishes clean, has a medium body.
All Bulletproof coffee comes from Rainforest Alliance-certified, passive-organic estates, where farmers grow coffee using traditional methods without chemicals (herbicides, pesticides, etc.).
Experienced coffee harvesters hand–pick every only perfectly ripe coffee berries, and after harvesting, we use the precision Bulletproof Process™ to ensure a special upgraded class of green coffee bean with the lowest possible levels of harmful mold toxins and bacteria. Then we roast the beans in small batches here in the U.S. under the strictest conditions, further minimizing the formation of toxins from the roasting process. Roasting the beans enhances their naturally occurring antioxidant capacity and flavor to provide you with a healthier, tastier cup of coffee.
